Press Release: Over 1 Million Women Go On A Women’s Global Strike Across The World
*Strike held on International Women’s Day to reclaim the day*
*Women express anger at pushback on their human rights*

On International Women’s day over one million women in all their diversities, from 59 countries went on a Women’s Global Strike to highlight the injustices women continue to face and demand structural change to advance women’s human rights. Women mobilised in large numbers across the world from the Philippines, India, Fiji, Nepal, United Kingdom, Mexico, Argentina, Ecuador to Paraguay saying ‘If Women Stop, The World Stops’. Cultural caravans, community theatre performances, concerts, demonstrations, marches and debates were among some of the diverse ways in which the participants rose up in protest in their regions and local communities around the world.
Press Release: Over 200,000 Women In Asia And The Pacific Join Women’s Global Strike
Today on International Women’s day, over 200,000 women in all their diversities from 20 countries in Asia and the Pacific joined the global call for a Women’s Global Strike saying ‘If Women Stop, The World Stops’. النسويات حول العالم يطالبن بالإضراب النسائي العالمي في 8 مارس/آذار 2020
رداً على الوعود غير المتحققة التي تقدمت بها الحكومات على مسار إعمال حقوق الإنسان والمساواة والتنمية والسلم لجميع النساء، دعت أكثر من 95 منظمة نسوية من أكثر من 36 دولة حول العالم إلى الإضراب النسائي العالمي في اليوم الدولي للمرأة (8 مارس/آذار 2020). تحت شعار “إذا أضربت النساء يتوقف العالم” يطالب الإضراب النساء من جميع أنحاء الأرض بالكف عن العمل أو الإبطاء في العمل، سواء كان رسمياً أو من أعمال الرعاية، وأن يتجمعن تحت لواء المطالبة بحقوق الإنسان الخاصة بالمرأة.

Press Release: Feminists Around The World Call For A Women’s Global Strike On March 8, 2023
In response to unkept promises made by governments to advance human rights, equality, development and peace for all women, more than 95 feminist organisations from over 36 countries worldwide call for a Women’s Global Strike on International Women’s Day (March 8, 2023). Under the theme, “If women stop, the world stops”, the strike calls women from every corner of the world to stop or slow down their formal or care work and come together to demand women’s human rights. بمناسبة عيد العمال، تطالب نسويات ومجموعات نسائية وحركات معنية بالعدالة الاجتماعية، بعالم عادل ونزيه تتحقق فيه المساواة، يراعي توفر الأجور الكافية للمعاش وإلغاء التفاوت في الأجور بين النساء والرجال، وإنهاء العنف القائم على النوع الاجتماعي، والسيادة الغذائية لجميع المجتمعات، وتوفر سيطرة النساء على الموارد وسبل المعاش.
